Dr. Kristin Armstrong DVM

Dr. Kristin Armstrong spent her first 19 years growing up in Mississauga, Ontario. Even before her arrival to her family, the household contained a wacky Irish Setter and a grumpy cat. Despite her early habits of sharing food with the dog and getting repeatedly chastised by the cat, her parents still did not suspect her future career. She bonded with a few other family dogs, cats, hamsters and fish before she attended Port Credit Secondary School and discovered an interest in biology. The combination of the quest for biological knowledge and her understanding of animals launched the pursuit of a career in veterinary medicine. Still in high school, she began a part-time job at a small animal hospital, where she learned about cleaning kennels, grooming animals and acting as a receptionist.

Kristin attended the University of Guelph from 1991-1998. Following graduation, her first intense but valuable experience was as an emergency veterinarian at a large vet clinic in Pennsylvania. She returned to her Canadian roots in November 1998, where the Orangeville Animal Hospital offered the perfect blend of a caring, professional environment and a thriving active community.

During her time here at O.A.H., she met her future husband and was married in December 2001. Her daughter, arrived in June 2008. Her pets currently consist of 2 cats.

An avid Leaf fan, Kristin also loves to play hockey, bike, ski, swim and hike. The sport of triathlon has become the latest challenge and passion.
